LANDSCAPES FROM WITHIN
Exhibition of Art Inspired by Science

Concept
For centuries we have looked to nature for inspiration: the wind, sky, sea, mountains and trees have moved and inspired artists to create their art.  It is also possible to find inspiration by looking deep inside our bodies: we may discover that we are just as beautiful and pure as the nature that surrounds us.

Medicine has been defined as an art as well as a science for treatment and disease prevention. Along with art, medicine has always been an integral part of humanity's great quest for knowledge. The exchange of knowledge between artists and scientists has led to many of our most important advances.

Objectives:
The idea behind Landscapes from Within reflects the modern society’s view of human health as a balance between the mind and the body.  Medical art has been effective not only in helping us to understand how the human body works, but also in representing an artistic vision.  Especially for someone outside of the medical field, it presents an abstract and fantastic reality - one, which in fact exists as a world inside of us.

A positive perception of our physical inner beauty can help us in healing and in a greater understanding of ourselves. Landscapes from Within will address growing self-awareness and health consciousness, as well as prevention and treatment of chronic and incurable diseases. Seeing our inner splendor through the art of medical illustration can lead us to a healthy and happy life.

The Landscapes from Within exhibition will make people aware of the immense inner beauty of our bodies as we dive and explore deep into the cellular and molecular level. This event will reach the broadest possible audience and will provide educational information to everyone who is interested in health, medicine, and the arts.

Artist Collaboration:
The main idea is to use medical art as a new wave of artistic expression and as a source of inspiration for creative community. Landscapes from Within will bring together a community of artists – those who have been working in medical field, and others who have training in various artistic disciplines and have been inspired by art of science and medicine. In this artistic collaboration, we will create an interactive space, where a collection of medical artwork, video installation, music, and fashion will recreate a magnificent world that lies within us.
